Dealing with Toddlers Behavior

Toddlers and young children don’t always move as smoothly as they like to express their needs. They also have troubles dealing with compromises and limits which leads towards tantrums and mood swings.

You can teach your toddler and help him improve his behaviour and control tantrums by providing love and making rules.
Show love to toddlers:
Always make sure that the display of love outnumber the punishments or scolding. Attention and praises can make your child motivated enough to follow the rules.
Define the rules clearly:
Don’t overburden your child with rules- this might frustrate the toddler. Prioritize rules and help your kid learn the importance of the rules and follow them.
Avoid tantrums:
Every kid has tantrums these days. To decrease the frequency or the intensity of the toddler’s tantrum here is what you need to do:
·         Learn the limits of your child. Your child is most likely to misbehave because or she is not aware of the thing that you are asking him not to do.
·         Explain toddlers how to follow the rules. Ask them to be polite when they are with others instead of threating or scolding them.
·         When toddler says no, don’t get irritated. Stay calm and repeat your request. Make everything look like a fun activity so that your kids will happily follow.
·         Don’t say no to everything when a child asks for anything. It is okay to say yes at times.
·         Make your child feel important and independent and give them choices to choose like  best baby products, sleeping pajama or bedtime story.
·         You must not bring up any situation that could trigger any frustration or tantrum like do not give them any advanced toy. Don’t go for long outings so that the kid starts getting tired and crampy. You should know when your child is getting tired, hungry or sick.
·         Keep a uniform routine so that your kids get used to it and don’t expect anything else.
·         Always remember to take your toddler’s input and feedback in everything. They must have all the freedom to express his or her feelings.
·         Always make sure that you are careful while criticizing your baby’s behaviour. Don’t punish the child physically or emotionally. It is never appropriate. Instead talk to them politely and explain things to them gently.
Children always learn from their elders so make sure you create a good example while acting in front of your parents. Always behave positively in front of your child.
